City streets

The August 12, 2016, we were leaving from Tallinn.
But the departure time of our bus was at 4 pm and we had almost the whole day.
So, after breakfast we went for a walk on the streets of the city.

Tallinn Streets

When tourists talk about the beauty of Tallinn, they usually mean medieval houses and streets in Old Town...
But this does not mean that there is nothing more to look in the city.
There are many buildings of our time here - houses from a glass and a concrete, wide streets and avenues, new sleeping districts.

Tallinn Streets

The medieval city turns suddenly and harmoniously into a modern capital...

There are very beautiful churches that are located outside the "Old City".
When we were in the center of Tallinn, we were seeing very high spiers of a church...
And we decided to see this church...

Charles' Church

The Charles' Church (Kaarli kirik) is one of the largest religious buildings in Estonia, with 1,500 seats.

Charles' Church

The existing church building was built in 1870.
The first mention of the Kaarli Kirik was dated 1630.
The church was so named after the Swedish King Charles XI.

He took an active part in the founding of Estonia and the Estonian Army.
He fought for the independence of his country.

When you'll in Tallinn, look at the Rotermann Quarter.
The Rotermanni Quarter is located in the heart of Tallinn, between the Old Town, the port and the Viru square.

Rotermanni Quarter

The houses of different years and different styles are very harmoniously combined here.

I would like to mention another component of Tallinn's streets...
These are streetlights.
You will see streetlights everywhere - in the "Old Town", on modern avenues and in Rotermanni Quarter.
We can not imagine Tallinn without weather vanes and without streetlights.
Otherwise, the city will lose its feature, part of its soul.

We had a little time...
We took our bags at the hotel and went to the bus station

Bus Station

And here is our bus.

It was a bit sad.
It happens when you leave a good friend.
Because, Tallinn has become a good hospitable friend for us.
But we found out and saw so little...
And we so want to return...
