Wonderful Tallinn

"I want to go to Estonia and look at the narrow quiet streets of Tallinn" - my wife said...

I also did not mind, as I was in Estonia many years ago.
In addition, our last vacation in Finland was short and we wanted to go somewhere else for a couple of days, until the summer was over.

We did not think for a long time and paid for the hotel and for the bus tickets two days before the trip.
The trip was a budget - two nights in Tallinn.

Back - by the bus of company "Temptrans"...
Well, we chose the hotel from those that remained.
And we booked a roon in the "Central Hotel", which we really liked.

Early in the morning on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, we hurried to the bus station...
Here was our bus...

The road was without adventures and the border crossing "Ivangorod - Narva" have not taken a long time
And we arrived to Tallinn, to the bus station at 1 pm.

The capital of Estonia met us with excellent weather: the sun, the blue sky and the warm wind.
And we went through the streets of the city to the hotel...

The city of Tallinn is the capital of Estonia.
It is the political, scientific, economic and cultural center of the country.
The city is located in Northern Europe, on the southern coast of the Tallinn Bay, 80 kilometers from Helsinki.
This is a large seaport on the Baltic Sea.

The city received its present name in 1919.
But over the past centuries the city has changed several names (Kolyvan, Revel, Tallinn).
The first settlement appeared here in 1154.
And the city was founded in 1248.
A lot of streets, houses, towers, churches and temples have been preserved in the downtown since that time.
Therefore, tourists from all over the world come to Tallinn to see the "Old Town".

After 20 minutes we were at our hotel.

The room was small, but very cozy...

"And what is our plan"? - the wife asked.

-- Today we'll take a walk in the park and see the Tallinn Bay.
-- Tomorrow - the "Old Town".
-- On the day of departure, we will walk along the streets of Tallinn and visit a couple of stores.

Half an hour later we were already going to the park, or rather to the Palace and park ensemble "Kadriorg".
