Las Vegas

We arrived to Las Vegas on Monday evening, September 15, 2014.
The sun had set and was very dark.
The lights illuminated the streets of the city.

"Very beautiful" - said my wife, looking out of the car on the sea of lights.
Yes, incredibly beautiful.

I passed many times through Las Vegas on HWY 15.
And every time, I had a feeling of admiration, joy and gratitude to those who created such a gem in the desert.

Las Vegas is located in the western United States, in Nevada, in the middle of the Mojave Desert.
The city was founded May 15, 1905.
This is one of the largest world centers of the entertainment and the gambling.
Numerous casinos, daily concerts and shows attract the tourists from around the world.

The more older casinos and hotels are located in the downtown, along of Fremont street.
Newer are located along the central street of the city - Las Vegas Blvd.
The most lively part of the boulevard is 4 miles long and is called the "Strip".

Nevada is known as the state of freedoms, of gambling and great opportunities.
Gambling were allowed in Nevada May 19, 1931.
When gambling in other states of America were banned, gambling business in Las Vegas began to grow rapidly.
And the fate of Las Vegas was changed.

Gambling business, entertainments and tourism are the backbone of the city's economy.

A organized crime had played a large role in the development of the city of gambling.
The mafia has invested huge amounts of money into the development of gambling, so Las Vegas has blossomed and took the title of the US gambling capital from the city of Reno.
At the same time, the mafia has made Las Vegas one of the safest cities in the US.

The prices for hotels in Las Vegas are very affordable, and if you make a reservation in advance - it will be very cheap.
This is due to the fact that the basic income bring casinos, concerts and shows that are located in the hotels.

Each hotel is designed in its own style, and their decoration are amazing.
However, this does not apply to rooms for visitors, they are the same as in the motel.

In addition to a casino, you can see a variety of shows, concerts and performances of celebrities in many hotels.
So, in the "MGM" played David Copperfield, in the "Bellagio" - the circus "Cirque Du Soleil", in "Mirage" was show "Volcano", in "Treasure Island" - was the show about pirates and sirens.

The hotels are connected by an overhead railway, with wagons - shuttles.

Hotels are built so that you will pass exactly through the casino and maybe you lose a little money there.

Casinos are very large, a lot of people in the halls with slot machines and tables, especially at night.
In general, all the amenities created: you can live in the hotel, play and spend money.

When choosing where to live, many choose "Strip", to get out of the room and immediately plunge into a riot of the life.

We were no exception.
But instead of the large hotels, we have chosen the "Motel 6" on Tropicana Avenue, almost on the corner with the Strip.

On this choice influenced several reasons.
First, in high-rise hotels there are huge queues to the front desk and you can wait a very long time.

Second - the Parking.
The large hotels usually have an underground parking...
But I like when the car is right under the window, and I can take my things out at any time.

We liked the "Motel 6" and we stayed there during our next trips to America.
