We flew by the airline "Lufthansa".
The flight went smoothly and uneventfully. I was bored.
But my wife was very funny.
She asked to the stewardess: "Water, please ..".

We arrived in New York, at JFK airport, on Friday, September 5 2014, at 1 p.m.
What can I say about JFK airport?
The airport is huge. This is the central gate of America.
Airplanes landing one by one, and thousands of passengers come to passport control.
But everything is organized clearly and correctly.
Sometimes, you will to wait in line up to 2 hours.
So, you should have more time, if you are a transit passenger.

Can I explore any city for 2 days, to feel its rhythm and life?
Of course, No.
Especially, such a metropolis like New York.
And we only had 2 full days.
We must fly to Los Angeles in the Monday, September 8.

Therefore, we decided to use every opportunity to see the city and learn about the life of people.
We had get from the airport to the center of New York - Manhattan, to the bus station - Port Authority Bus Terminal.
You can use the shuttle or subway.
We chose the subway.

Once you arrive at the Airtrain to Jamaica Station, go down into the subway.
And to be honest, we do it with caution.
Because we had been reading in our media, that the subway is not very clean.
But we were in the subway in Toronto, which we really liked.
Well, where is this dirt, where the smells of the subway?
There's nothing wrong.
Everywhere is сlean, around were normal, polite people.
Yes, we have to believe our eyes, not the media.

We used subway line "E" to station 42 St/Port Authority Bus Terminal.
In the center we took bus to our hotel.
Perhaps you know that the river in New York is the border between the states of New York and New Jersey.
So, you are in the heart of the Manhattan, and 15 minutes later already in another state.
The other state - the other hotel prices, much lower than in Manhattan.
In addition, the hotels comfortable, cleaner and quieter.
Only 15 minutes by bus under the river ...

We chose the motel "Super 8" in the North Bergen City, New Jersey.
